Sri Lanka has been named the World's Best Travel Destination of the Year for 2019 by the Lonely Planet Guide Guide. Sri Lanka has been named as one of the Top 10 Places to Visit in the World in 2019. According to Lonely Planet's guide, Sri Lanka has come in the first place, beating Germany, Zimbabwe, Panama, and Indonesia. According to the magazine, train trips to Tangalle coastal area, Ella, Anuradhapura, Kandy, Sri Lanka have been designated as the best places to visit. Besides, the Peradeniya Botanic Gardens, the Arugam Bay coastline, the variety of food and the quality of tea in the country have all contributed to this recommendation. The Lonely Plant Guidance Statement states that the Udawalawe National Park is among the best wildlife zones in East Asia, and the Sinharaja and Galle Fort are the best places to visit.
